Client brief
Havaianas wanted to open a store in Sydney, within the shopping precinct of Paddington.
The client wanted to reflect the Australian beach culture of sea, sun, and sand, and to showcase their good quality rubber sandals that endure Sydney beach conditions day in and out.
Concept
To cherish beach culture of Havaianas, I envisioned thongs floating neatly in the ocean of blue waves.
To express this vision, I placed organic laminated glass shelves on both left and right walls which communicate the way that water ebbs through the ocean.
In addition, a mid-floor display unit serves as a focal point in the center of shop as, crashing upwards like a futuristic yacht breaking through the ocean.
Along with futuristic look of all shelving units, an organic-shaped shop façade made of laminated glass forms a contained of the 'ocean' within the store, calling to visitors 'come in and play in the ocean full of Havaianas' sandals' and be happy.
2 smart touch screen POSs is not only used for merchandize, but also containing a Havaianas APP allow you to capture your feet image and match them with our sandals collection. They stands next to the mid-floor unit in aid your shopping decision.
At the very back is shelving unit enclosed with curved panels is used for and staff facilities (a toilet and a kitchenette) where products get replenished.
