This non-threating holistic approach to the urban oasis offers a sense of purpose, balance and motivation by providing support, which will empower the individual through various approaches such as reflexology, counselling, strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation. It also offers relaxation through yoga sessions, a fruit bar, and a water cure which takes advantage of the physical properties of water, such as temperature and pressure, for therapeutic purposes.

 

Whilst consideration was certainly given to both incorporating the added wellbeing services and use of sustainable materials, the design intent was always first and foremost focused on the function of the space as a ‘Being in the zone” for its patrons. Every design choice made, from furnishings to layout to colour scheme, is done so to create a comfortable environment that is sensitive to the condition of its guests.

 

Since core 9 fitness routines are accepted as best innovative practise, it was especially crucial that the materials were sustainable. The core9 re-design has ensured sustainability by using sustainable suppliers (international floor covering, future wood, Obeco glass bricks), to lower power consumption and increase resource conservation.
